At Southwood, we are a community. A family. We love each other. You can see it. And you can feel it. It is real. We are a biblically faithful church that offers worship that is authentic in context and content. And we are a culturally relevant, authentic community that is on a journey to expose the beauty of His Kingdom to a world that is desperately seeking something beautiful. Will you travel with us?
So why Not A Repeat?
We are adding a second service that is not a repeat of the first. The second service is a casual atmosphere with more contemporary music and multimedia. We hope that each member of our family and community will be able to find the flavor that best suits them and offers the best opportunity to worship Him.
Formal Service
This service will look and feel like the service style we have used since June 2006. The elements and hymns will be familiar, and from time to time, we may sing more hymns to traditional tunes as well. The piano, stringed instruments and a vocal ensemble will lead congregational singing. The pastors leading worship will wear a jacket and tie. Liturgy will remain basically unchanged.
Informal Service
This service will look and feel more informal and relaxed in style with the use of an audio-visual screen for announcements, lyrics and readings. Music will be more spirited with different rhythms and arrangements. Additional instruments may be added to accompany the stringed instruments and piano. Fewer vocalists will lead congregational singing. The pastors leading worship will wear more casual attire. We encourage you to come as you are!
